I defend (if you want to call it that) ACORN because Republicans make them out to be something sinister, when I am pretty sure they are no more wrong than any of the groups that Republicans support – yet I never hear the same complaints. And to me that is just hypocrisy at its finest.

I am pretty sure all your other arguments against ACORN can be summed up the same way.

Regarding your property. You have to check it from time to time because that is what happens when you leave a property in a state where it looks abandoned. It is the price YOU pay for not keeping the property in a condition that the community at-large will not see as a blight.

BTW, is anyone who is looking for an abandoned property to live in “a piece of shit?” Makes me wonder if you call yourself a Christian too?

Why is it, do you think that squatting in a lot of places is legal? It is because the community does not want you to leave blighted and/or abandoned property sitting around. They would rather see someone come in and use the property, make it a community asset.
It is just ONE of the reasons that I don't like them and no, I don't agree with squatting on any level. I would love to see the statistics as to what percentage of squatters turn a property into a "community asset" as opposed to crack dens. As far as my property is concerned, there are multiple homes in similar condition/situations in this area. Old homes that are on their last legs where the owners are waiting for commercial/medical offices to go up. All land value. Fixing up the house is a waste of money and the cost of demolition may be negotiated into the sale. Why should I have to go any further out of my way other than keeping the grass at the legal height, boarding up the windows/doors, paying my taxes and posting numerous no tresspassing signs? Oh, that's right. We live in a world where people who do the right things have to take extra steps to protect themselves from scumbags. Just like I have to pay for un-insured driver protection on my car insurance for when some uninsured driver crashes into me.

I see now that your arguement goes back to the whole "Republicans are doing it too" thing. The difference between you and I is that I would hold the Republicans accountable as well if they supported such a group or if this group notoriously supported them. You won't.

So to sum up, because you disagree with Republicans so badly, you willingly defend group that is on video trying to help a prostitute obtain a housing loan for a brothel to house the underage girls she brings into the country, a group that the founder's brother embezzled a million dollars from only to have the organization attempt to cover up the whole thing, a group that encourages people to take what does not belong to them by squatting, a group that commits mass voter registration fraud and so on. That is your choice, but I refuse to do so. Especially if tax payer money is involved. If I liked Obama as you do, I would still not want any money going to this organization.

It seems like we are never going to agree on this topic if you are going to defend ACORN just because the Republicans are on the offensive.

Yes, I am a Christian, but I don't go to church every Sunday or try to preach to everyone. I also believe in gay marriage, women's right to choose and I reserve the right to call someone a piece of sh!t if it is warranted. That is the type of Christian I am. I am not sure what type you of Christian you are, or if you are at all, but should I assume that you have never called anyone a bad name before? It also seems like you were pretty close to judging me there for a minute when I did.
