Where do you live Jay? I'm out in Granite Falls for the next few days visiting my son and his little sister, but I'll probably be spending the rest of my time in Edmonds. I don't remember if you have a subwoofer already, but I brought my two enclosures to throw onto Craigslist while I'm in town for a few months. Hopefully I can participate in some BMW meets while in town.

As for the Spanish being force fed, I'm not against learning a new language at all, but we shouldn't be doing it because illegal immigrants are too lazy to learn the language when they come here to take our jobs. My kids are 12 and 9, and I've watched the youngest and some of her cartoons which teach Spanish randomly throughout the show. I wonder if good ol' Sesame Street has given into the peer preessure.

Surely you understand that a movie made for a dumb section of American audience will feature most dialogue in English - especially the FnF series is not even close to realistic...

Some of the comments in this thread bring to mind a statue in New York harbour, with the inscription "Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breath free....". Maybe I missed it, but I don't recall anything about "as long as they learn English, and speak it at work, and those already here don't have to learn it"

I understood that the US acquired various Spanish-speaking lands over the years, and thus Spanish-speaking citizens. Sure, it is a good idea to learn English. That doesn't mean that people shouldn't be allowed to speak other languages, though.

How dare you, FnF is TOTALLY realistic I'm not sure if you we're insulting me here , or just making a general statement for the audience that movie was designed around.

I lost any sense of realism on the first FnF movie when the guys car went sooo fast that rivets on his floor failed and his floorboard flew off...

You know what is funny? I just saw on the news that Chateau Elan, a huge resort in the Atlanta area is under investigation for hiring illegal workers. I saw one interview with a woman (white) who was let go after years of service a few years back just before the influx of illegal workers at the resort. It is very possible she lost her job due to cheaper illegal wages. I also saw two teenagers (also white) applying for jobs as servers and groundskeepers. One of which, has wanted to work there for years and hasn't had the opportunity until the entire staff of illegals were fired. You know what else is super sweet about the U.S.? These illegals were not deported, just fired. Go figure.

Later in the same news show, I saw that as of today, the Georgia Board of Regents won't stop illegals from attending state colleges. They simply won't give them an in-state tuition break.

Illegals may not have rights, but is sure seems like there aren't any serious consequences for it either. Why wouldn't you try to sneak in here? Something has to be done. That is why I don't mind what Arizona is doing. I don't think it is the best plan, but maybe it will light a fire under the federal gov't ass to actually do something about the problem.

One last thing, there were some illegal immigrants busted for making counterfeit documents last week in the Atlanta area as well.

Maybe things like this don't happen very often where some of you live, but is sure does here and that is why I am personally tired of it. Having said that, when I go into a part of town that is known for it's high illegal population and hear strictly spanish being spoken or see a group of workers (probably illegal) standing out in front of Home Depot, it is very easy to get annoyed.

Trust me, I hear ya... If they simply give legal recourse to companies that hire illegals it would open enough job positions to make a serious dent in that unemployment problem this nation currently has.

When I lived outside of Boston, spanish was force fed from age 12. I took 2 weeks of it before I changed schools.

In Maine, French was required from age 6, until last year. Now its spanish. Morons. So it is getting force fed.
All of the illegals there are from Quebec

If you want to have an interesting conversation, talk to a teacher at a public elementary school. Its really interesting to hear their observations on the kids who come in, not knowing english and watching them struggle and then finally get going with English.

I still subscribe to the Moat theory of border control.

I've seen it enough times that I shouldn't be making any jabs at the audience either lol
