Goes both ways...u should see the arrogance of some americans going abroad and they get so pissed that people there don't speak English...hahah too funny

I believe knowing English should be pretty much required to live here.... speak your native languages all you want, but know English to be able to perform in society here.
After all, what language are all the road signs in? The country is run in English... the least you can do if you want to live here is learn it to be able to interface and communicate with the vast majority. Really, how can one legitimately get a drivers license without knowing English?

You should at least know it good enough (understand AND speak) to hold basic communications with people in your daily life. I wouldn't expect to travel out of country and get by without knowing enough of the native language to get by...

I have good friends that are bartenders and I was at the bar last night... at least 3 times when I was there a few Mexicans walked in (and I call them Mexicans because they are illegals, not citizens of this country) and just started speaking spanish to her. She said two drink minimum, got back random spanish. Asked for ID's got back random spanish. Then she handed them a laminated sign just like the one posted on the front door that states those same two things in spanish... they kinda got argumentative in spanish vs at least produce an ID. At that point the manager had to yet again go outside and flag over the cop that works detail in that area to remove them. But do you think the current politics lets the policeman arrest them and turn them over? The answer is no... He said his hands are tied and unless they are involved in a crime he isn't allowed to do anything.
Why again is the Federal government actively stopping Federal laws from being enforced?
