Ok I'm all ears. You tell me what's preventing white people from
playing basketball. I don't get how their being shut out of the game.....
There are so many basketball camps it ridiculous. All anyone
has to do is show up and present their game.

Larry Byrd's comment's in this regard are pretty telling.
"As far as playing, I didn't care who guarded me -- red, yellow, black," Bird added. "I just didn't want a white guy guarding me. Because it's disrespect to my game."

Regarding NASCAR, read the article I linked and see what's

And what is stopping minorities from being good stock car racers? Are minorities not allowed to practice racing cars?

Bill Lester has been floating around NASCAR for years and hasn't won anything. Juan Pablo won 7.5% of the F1 races he started, yet he has 1 win in 119 starts in NASCAR'S top series and that was on a road course. Someone I know once said, you better come with it otherwise
athletically your going to get run over like a freight train. Maybe they are just getting run over.

Black kids play basketball because it is cool.

There are several high profile white NBA players in the league.

Exactly. That is my point, but my question is why is there a minority program for NASCAR, but not one for the NBA where white are the minority? Things that make you go Hmmm?

Because there are relatively no black drivers, and there is no developmental program for NASCAR. With basketball, as long as you have a ball and a hoop, you can develop your skill. Thus, anyone who attends a public or private school with a sports program has the opportunity to learn the sport and become good.

This thread was/is not intended to be about whites/blacks in sports.

The same thing stopping anyone. A desire to compete and
in the case of NASCAR sponsorship.

All you need for Basketball is the same thing. A desire to compete
and a basketball camp where players gather to shop their skills.
Sponsorship not required.

Yeah, but when you throw out a race card comment and a guy wearing a photoshopped shirt for an organization that actually has a minority development program, I couldn't stand it any longer. This thread jumped the shark with that post, not mine. I am done here now. Didn't really want to get into in the first place. Carry on.
