There really is no good legal use for BitCoin that I can think of and it's value in large part rests on how much energy gets used to produce it so not a big fan.

I think we are thinking along the same lines and were under the impression that Donald Trump was going to regulate BitCoin as a way to defund the cartels but he ended up doing the opposite and cashing in himself on top of it.

Anyway, I was kinda hoping that the tariffs would come into play when he originally said so we can get that over with. Take steel for instance, I think we specialize more in pipe and rolled and you guys do more I beams and structural steel so we both are more efficient at what we do and we trade with each other for what we need. If we didn't trade and each of us converted our plants to produce what we need then we would save on shipping cost and even the environmental footprint for transporting it.
The official links I shared showed that Canada agreed to improve their border and if ylook at the dates you will see that it happened 48hrs after the tariff announcement (he wasn't joking) since Canada agreed the tariffs were put on hold from starting. That's all I was showing with the links.

Well may be not joking, but he's not serious either like you pointed out. It seems to be our politicians who are flying around staying in first class hotels trying to look like they are doing something while working their own angles and the news media along with them that he is having the most effect with.

I do absolutely nothing on social media but I imagine there is a huge amount going on there as well.

Anyway, if his big stick to the cartels is renaming the gulf of mexico while he is financing them with bitcoin he's not the guy I would have voted for.

It seems to me that he is blaming the rest of the world for things that the previous US administration(s) did.

Asking the Ukraine for rare earth metals in exchange for protection is pretty much right out of the Mafia playbook. You guys can't even claim to be able protect against Russia because you still have no solution to Russia's hypersonic weapons, which Canada, btw, was trying to help you out with years ago already but maybe that didn't work out, or if it did, seems to be completely forgotten about.

Rare earth metals are mostly from China (an adversary) and after the US has given Ukraine 4 1/2 times the amount of all the other countries combined it sure seems more like getting something for all the funds and weapons we've provided. Getting a needed item from an adversary is bad, just ask Europe about natural gas from Russia...

As for hypersonic weapons the US 1st started on them in the 70s and did have a surface to space nuke that was the fastest around, I have actually had to work on them (trainer versions) as it's a mandatory thing. You don't want to try to disarm a nuke for real without ever practicing before...

The Russian version is not that special or that fast compared to other weapons coming out of NEO.

As for going against Russia... If it's conventional warfare, we'd put their dick in the dirt fast. Ukraine had shit for equipment, training and experience and they've held the Russians pretty much at bay for years, while we've had 20 years of combat and for the most part top of the line equipment. I am very certain of our military just because I've stacked bodies from the conflicts in Panama all the way through Afghanistan and Iraq.

I would say that most of what people are seeing and not understanding is that the American People are fed up with paying for other countries equipment, training and providing military for in others defense for the only thing to happen is those countries get to use more of their GDP to progress but we have to go slower or even deeper in debt to maintain just the status quo.
I don't really have an issue with Canada but as an example Canada uses the proximity to the US for not needing much ofba military. The entire Canadian military is smaller that the amount of troops and equipment maintained at Ft. Hood, Texas.

It’s easy in the current fake news environment to downplay a powerful military strike, as simply a weapons depot strike, or an earthquake bomb. LoL…

https://youtu.be/XgnkpTVH82o?si=-Nai-DcV1oI5Mf2B

A few tidbits about this strike. Yes it registered on the Richter scale. Atomic tests by “Rocket Man” usually do as well. Second, the blast has very unique characteristics (that white light isn’t the Holy Spirit in this case). This isn’t your everyday air strike. This strike is consistent with the capabilities of US munitions, not Israeli. And third, the moment this went down, Russia pulled all of its forces out of the region in full retreat, Iran chilled the Eff out instantly, and hamas started making deals immediately.

There are indeed US solutions to deter Russia’s hypersonic weaponry, or we wouldn’t be having this conversation. Canada is in no position to help out a military that is substantially superior to its own.

Who’s helping who? We don’t claim to protect. WE DO!

I agree, but I still want everyone to understand that I and (most of) the US population don't have issues with people from other countries, but with their governments and that includes our own. Mostly due to them being fair weather friends or believing that the USA should support them somehow, yet it's suddenly wrong or unfair for the US to put its own people first.

I have lived, worked and/or fought in Panama, Colombia, Honduras, Argentina, Bosnia, Hungary, Germany, Philippines, Macao, Afghanistan, Iraq, Saudi Arabia (not just deployed to all of them) and I have friends from every one of those countries even some that were on the opposite side of the conflict with the US.
It is the governments that are the issue because they only look out for "government" not their country and unfortunately most people equate patriotism for their country the same as for "their party or leader" and then it makes everything seem like a pissing match between the populations instead of between governments. Sometimes governments, like children need to understand the consequences of their actions.

EOD, I hope that US and Canadian troops will always be unified on the front lines in any battle or conflict. Together we can help each other. Pointing fingers won’t solve anything.

Quick question, what’s your opinion on being 1600 meters from ground zero during detonation on that particular strike?

Amen to that!

At 1600m you're still just over 1km shy of a safe distance from the overpressure (flat ground, unprotected) so I'd expect some lung and soft tissue damage along with burst eardrums. Most likely a 40% fatality rate and 100% chance of acting like a tumbleweed.
