Not leading you anywhere. It just seems strange that the people who decided to use the phrase "UNDER GOD" didn't identify who that god was by name.
Thanks for the response. BTW The question isn't rhetorical. The word "GOD" is not a name it's a title. There have been many Gods and many of them have names.
So I wondered which GOD did they mean? Or did they even know that's all.

The only explanation that I can see in the State that is SEPARATE from Church (sinagogue, mosque or any other temple, church here is used as a description of religious institution) derives from atheistic nations where references to God remain in spoken language... Or, in middle east, where one will not say anything without mentioning God (Inshallah, for example)...
the forefathers may have meant "Christian God", or, they may have meant, with the "good providence"...
