Unfortunately, I don't believe there is such a thing as a politician with good character. I used to be very optimistic about America and that our politicians wanted to serve the people. Now, I'm not even certain the people have the capacity/pride to take care of themselves anymore. Personal responsibility has been replaced with group think and social media fame.

I've now gotten to the point where I just want a couple of acres, or more, 20 - 30 miles outside of the city with our house and a workshop. Leave the rest of society to their own devices. I've lived in major cities over much of the US my whole life and the older I get, the more I find I'm over it.

Bit of a "rant," but orange man, black man, white man, woman, whatever... Politicians seem to all be the same but disguise it with the facade of an "us vs them" struggle. And we're letting them get away with it.

Edit: on a positive note though, the Supreme Court has pleasantly surprised me this week.

I share your thoughts. We have been looking at homes for over two years with over an acre and up to 20.

He still has time to press the nuclear launch button. I 'm sure he was wet dreams about getting the opportunity.

That’s my dream as well. Nothing beats acres and acres of land for you to build on with your two bare hands. Besides the house and workshop, I would also build a 12,000 gallon koi pond and a small orchard of various fruit trees, and a vegetable garden!

Rabbit and Chicken shed for fresh meat and eggs, a cow for milk?

Eat healthy and organic, plant your own food.

And if I can just add a tennis court, that would be heaven on earth.

It’s interesting that I can totally see what he’s thinking about and why. He’s so transparent and easy to read.

The bad part is, he’s the wrong kind of example we need for a leader, yet we put him up there.

It really says more about the mindset of our citizens than anything else.

Steve Schmidt, former republican advisor:

Quote:

"Donald Trump has been the worst president this country has ever had. And I don't say that hyperbolically. He is. But he is a consequential president. And he has brought this country in three short years to a place of weakness that is simply unimaginable if you were pondering where we are today from the day where Barack Obama left office. And there were a lot of us on that day who were deeply skeptical and very worried about what a Trump presidency would be.

But this is a moment of unparalleled national humiliation, of weakness.

"When you listen to the President, these are the musings of an imbecile. An idiot. And I don't use those words to name call. I use them because they are the precise words of the English language to describe his behavior. His comportment. His actions. We've never seen a level of incompetence, a level of ineptitude so staggering on a daily basis by anybody in the history of the country whose ever been charged with substantial responsibilities.

"It's just astonishing that this man is president of the United States. The man, the con man, from New York City. Many bankruptcies, failed businesses, a reality show, that branded him as something that he never was. A successful businessman. Well, he's the President of the United States now, and the man who said he would make the country great again. And he's brought death, suffering, and economic collapse on truly an epic scale. And let's be clear. This isn't happening in every country around the world. This place. Our place. Our home. Our country. The United States. We are the epicenter. We are the place where you're the most likely to die from this disease. We're the ones with the most shattered economy. And we are because of the fool that sits in the Oval Office behind the Resolute Desk."
His supports will say "But Obama". " But Hillary."

"But I like the judges.....But I like his policies."

But But But

It is so very hard to look at a Trump supporter- today- and have any respect.

Cheetoman retweeted a white power slogan today. Nice job getting more of the population in an uproar over his apparent favoritism for white supremacy.

It’s sad that the only effective way for him to hold on to his power is to continue dividing this great country.

He is no Lincoln, heck I’m not sure who he’s comparable to. He’s at the lowest ladder.

Saw that. He's a real moron for sure, but his party lets him get away with it. Politics is a corrupt business. Any self respecting politician would have impeached him long ago regardless of which side of the aisle they belonged to.

Hopefully we're down to the last 6 months of the Cheeto-in-Chief. Then American politics can go back to just being corrupt. Which would of course beat the current flavor of corrupt AND embarrassing.

I think the previous standard of politics has something more than corruption going for it.

They are somewhat competent and the leader tend to follow the advice of experts.

Little Bush did that and he managed to keep the country together for 8 years.

So did Clinton and Obama. Between these 3 presidents we have 24 years of relative peace and prosperity.

But you get a really bad one and he can ruin all that foundation and growth in a few quick years.

Corruption are everywhere. But competence makes up for the damage caused by corruption.

If you are corrupt and incompetent, then there's no saving grace no matter how you spin it.

I get this sense of urgency to make sure he’s a one term president. Otherwise we’ll be in a much deeper hole after the next 4 years.

It may sound like a broken record, but its the only way to remove him from the political process. We need to Wake up the public, to start a movement that the majority of the people wants to get involved in.

So many disastrous events have unfolded recently, I fear the bad news is far from over. We can’t survive them if all we have to look forward to is another 4 years of this imbecile.
