OBD2 CAN

Hey all, I have a 2005 X5 4.4 in Perth.
I have seen different code readers over the last few years but none seemed to be reasonably priced.
Lately I have seen ones like THIS and THIS and want some feedback if anyone has one or can give feedback on them. $40 seems pretty reasonable to get the job done.

I spose I am looking for something that can easily read and then reset some codes, mainly oil reset.

Cheers

AFAIK, the only code reader out there that can also reset Insp I/II lights is Peake. I've got both the Peake tools, then I bought a $20 US wireless OBDII tool from China and then run an app on my Android phone called Torque...does everything and more than the typical code reader (02 readings, RPM, intake temps, etc, etc etc.) but it still doesn't reset the Insp lights.

If you don't really need to read any codes you can do an oil reset via the cluster when you give her a service.

hi, if you just want to diagnose the code, for the bmw car, I think the Maxiscan MS509 is much better, you must know that the cheaper tool can't diagnose the car well....

Dubs - did you end up purchasing one of those units? I have purchased the bluetooth code reader and when I work out how to do it will download "Torque" app to my jailbroken Iphone4 - should have the unit in a few days.

Cheers

Any tips on how to get "Torque" onto my Iphone4? It is jailbroken but still havn't had any luck in getting this App onto it.
There is an App on Itunes called "Dashcommand" but it costs $50.00 so would prefer to try "Torque" before I go down this track.
Any assistance appreciated.

Hop onto www.mobilism.org and look for Rev...as far as I know, it's comparable to Torque, but each app is independant based on your OS.
