Time to say goodbye...

Well, the time has come to move on. I traded in my 2004 4.8is and have gotten a 2013 Mini Cooper with a 6 speed manual. The 4.8 had 246k and the tranny was beginning to slip.

If you're not getting any codes then start with the basic preventive maintenance items. Plugs, fuel filter, fuel injector cleaning, etc... See if any of those help.

Try taking the negative battery terminal off for a few and see if it resets the general module (GMIII) that handles the door locks.

Not sure if this would related to the 4.8 but, when I had my 2003 3.0i, the temp gauge reacted the same pegging to red hot shortly after warming up. I replaced the thermostat/ housing and it fixed...

Cause of the ses could be many things. You're on the right track seeing if its bad gas. If it still isn't right check/ change the plugs and coils.

My 4.8 had the P0420 (Post CAT bank 1) SES recently and had to clear it a few times with my scanner. Thought my O2 sensor was going bad as well...

The DWS's are awesome and perform much better...

The DWS's are awesome and perform much better than "Brick-stones" RFT's... IMHO RFT's are very heavy and loud compared to the DWS'. I have RFT's on front and hate them.
