Yea, you should have called a tow truck immediately. I don't understand why people try to limp home a car with an aluminum engine while it's overheating, no way it'll survive.

Why get rid of the 4.8is? They won't make anymore of them and keeping a nice one on the road rather than buying a new cookie cutter suv is a much better choice.

They are single use. The new ones I bought don't snap in however, I think I accidentally bought E39 boxes which look the same but have a different part number so the barbs might be smaller.

Just fix it. Its still cheaper than a new car and the E53 is far better than any car in its class that you would replace it with. E70's are junk, the E53 feels a lot better built and better to drive.
