I have a glow plug error on all 6 glowplugs when I run scan and suspect it is the controller. However it doesn't get cold enough here to worry about. X5 always starts even in winter.

No mechanical problems. Turbo is still fine. Only engine maintenance has been a new crankshaft pulley at about 220,000 kms. Still pulls like a train and I get around 8.0 lt/100 kms.

I have tried one of the other keys and the problem is still there. Turn the key, all the ignition lights come on but it won't crank. Turn key off and on several times and away it goes.


Any ideas?

I have 2 other keys which are aftermarket and have flat batteries so the remote doesn't work. I will try using one of these for a while and see if problem continues.
