Yea i found the same when testing my fix.

I decided i was ok with that though as there's no way water is getting past the seals at a rate enough to overwhelm the drain capacity.

Luckily I don't have any sagging in the headliner (yet!) so I'll just pull it back enough to repair the sunroof drain I think and then put it back together again....

well the X5 is being particularly troublesome these days! Getting tempted to get rid of it and replace it with a W204 AMG C63 Wagon instead.

Carbon Black is actually just a very dark blue, hence it being included. On a sunny day it looks more blue than black and only really looks black at all if its overcast.

Pierburg fuel pump - but plastic?!

Hi all,

The fuel pump in my X is definitely on the way out, there’s a very audible whining noise from the rear right hand side of the car when it’s running.

BMW no longer supply the part...

I think in the UK these devices tended to be for reduced insurance premiums rather than anything else. Though I’ve never bought a car on finance so I don’t know if UK finance companies request...

Well the power to it wasn't on fuse 73... seems to be permanently live but not sure where its coming from.

Ripped it out anyway now. Not too many clues what the heck it is on it. Even pulled it...

Checked just now and the nav display works fine...

Checked just now and the nav display works fine with fuse 73 pulled. I potentially don’t care about anything else in that list so I may accept my “fix” is just leave fuse 73 out….

I haven’t pulled them yet, but will see if I can rip it out tomorrow morning so will double check them when i do. I’m assuming they’re power and ground for now.

Yea I agree, time to ditch it. Bet that little lead acid battery is dead and responsible for some of the load.

Quite possibly! and yea shame about the lining :( clearly fitted by some cowboy. The foam section that fits into there also has a section cut out to leave space for that part.
