I tried both, and you still get more room on the MB. Not only that, but the MB is the closest thing in driving experience to an X5. Then you have the hassle of taking the third row seats on and off...

I am looking at the GL 450. The GL 550 offers no off-road package which allows you to switch the suspension to stiffer mode, and boy, does it make a difference in handling.

I agree, the X5 is the perfect truck for a couple with two kids. The handling with the off-road package on the GL is pretty good. Enjoy that X.

So I finally drove the new 4.8 at the Susan G. Komen event....

I drove it twice for about 20 miles each time. On freeways as well as in the mountains.

Here are my impressions as compared to my 05 4.4

Handling: 4.8 is a lot more composed than my 4.4...
