If Intravee makes it, this is far preferable to the "joys" of hunting down used gear on Ebay! I took a look, and the KCA-410c is almost $100 used on Ebay.

When I did mine, I took out the old disk with the key out, left the rear hatch open, put the new disk, the put the key to position 1. It read the disk just fine and updated to V31.
