Im wondering if BMW ever made a different lower dash for the E53 as they did for the E38 and E39. On the E39, it gives back another 2-3" of knee/leg room to the driver. Notice the extra 2-3 inches...

The 5'ers only used racks on the 6 cyl models. They're not up to the duty on the X5. The v8's used recirc ball, but that would entail much more customization to swap to the M5 recirc ball system. ...

Shut the a/c compressor off and turn off recirc. I wouldnt recommend it though, as mold can build up in the evap.

The roller is a blend control. It allows outside air in to help keep windows from fogging by with letting you fine tune the temp/humidity in the cabin.

I have to agree. I just did this on my 4.6....you're better off spending a little extra and doing the all of the guides, the chain(s), and tensioners while you're in there. Cheap insurance if you ask...

Sounds like a kenne bell supercharger, and the noise is from the bank 2 vanos area.
