Took the car to the garage. They found allot of oil in the cylinders and exhaust, far too much for it to have come from the residual oil from a rocker cover change.

What could have failed for oil...

Smoke after gasket change

Hi, I've just replaced my alternator and rocker cover gaskets.

On start up I have thick smoke coming from the rear left exhaust, allot of it.

I've tried test placing the cover back on a few times, I think it can be done without removing those pipes, but may need two people. Worried about getting a well place gasket:dunno:.

Right rocker cover

Hi I'm having trouble getting one of my rocker covers on, the space is real tight.

Do I need remove the coolant pipes on the left to get the cover and gasket on safely?

Any help about this...

Changing my lower control arms 31126760276 and sway bars, left side went like a dream, the right is not coming off !

Using a ball joint fork and a universal seperator which was too small.

Bleeding do I need use a GT1 etc..?

Hi, reading the Bentley Manual they claim the BMW braking system is prone to air bubbles and the only safe way to bleed is to have a Prog Tool set to the bleed function, reading the DIY's on here...
