Interesting enough, my code went away immediately after install (did not reset), but has returned. I read through a few more threads saying the IAC valve can trigger this same code- I’ll be removing...

Thanks for the tips. I bought VNE from FCP, will report back if there is a premature failure. I did not have to remove the oil filter (just changed oil), a small hex ratchet fits no problem the issue...

Great video, was an easy job but helpful to see it beforehand. My cam sensor failure did not cause the car to stall, but lost low end torque and had the “intake cam end position” dme code.

This is incredible. I’ve owned my 3.0 for 6 years and am in about $2000, excluding oil tires etc. I can’t imagine what part hasn’t been replaced for 15k

Hey team, update on my search. The maintained version noted above got pulled off CL and went silent, while the 82k mile dealer truck had smoking after idling and some other concerning indications....

My impression is that the 2nd gen (at least earlier vintages) had a myriad of computer and mechanical issues that could go wrong, and I have always viewed the e53 as a “safe” bet relatively....
