Technically nothing went wrong with the rebuild - there are really four components in the Vanos assembly. The intake and exhaust camshaft pistons, intake and exhaust solenoid/actuator rods...

Do you have the white card with the bluetooth passkey? You should be able to start pairing the device by pressing the button on the steering wheel that looks like someone speaking then turn the key...

Gave my X3 some serious love yesterday. It just turned 90K and the vcg was leaking slightly. I can't say enough about the quality of the Beisan Systems vanos seals. I did the procedure three years...

The only time I've run across a stubborn P0174...

The only time I've run across a stubborn P0174 code was on a M54 engine that had a DISA valve that was not sealing well. German auto solutions sells an O-ring for around five bucks for that purpose....

Hi folks,

I haven't seen much on spark plug comments here. I see an occasional "100k" mile interval.....maybe later models came with better spark plugs? Mine is a 2006 and came with the Bosch...

Just picked up a clean 2006 x3 with 60k on it.
It's the ubiquitous Black with sand beige interior.
So far, I like it. Big change from the E46 330i I had been driving.
I added the aux input jack...
