Am thinking about upgrading from a 2004 E53 to a newer ( 2012- 2013)E70
What is the general feeling about looking for a 3.5 engine Vs a 5.0 Engine?
Maintenance, reliability Etc?

I did have the driver door lock repaired at BMW ...

I did have the driver door lock repaired at BMW ,,it may be loose s it worked for a while after they fixed the lock and has come on once in a while

the driver side speakers are dead
Dealer said it was the Amp, replace the amp and still no sound.
any ideas

The Indy said the old alternator was putting out 13 volts and should be around 13.8

Had a dead battery, it was 6 yrs old, replaced the battery and the new one when dead after not using the X5 for 3 days , charged the new battery and took it to a indy to check, replaced...

I had to replace a dead battery and when I put the new battery in ,, my 4 x 4 light came on,, was not on until the battery went dead.
Will try the lock to lock on the steering wheel....

Tried to put my battery charger on the under hood + post and - on the engine and after about 2-3 minutes my alarm started to go off,
so disconnected everything I can get into the X5...
