The stealership wants $200 for a new cylinder for the drivers door. A friend of a friend said he can make the replacement and repair for $150. Sounds like a good deal.

Since I cannot access the interior I cannot open the hood.

Yes the dhc's are broken.

The lock cylinder works so if I can power up just a little I can lower the windows by turning lock cylinder to unlock and roll down the windows....

I didn't take the time to put the 2004 X5 on the battery tender like I always do when traveling during the winter.

I came home after three months to a dead and locked X5.

I had used Gorilla epoxy a year ago. When I removed the door card again the plastic easily came apart where it was glued. I also had glued the top left clip holder...

Window regulator

I replaced the broken left rear regulator a year ago.

The glue holding the door card plastic broke and I Gorilla epoxyed it back togeter.

Now the clip broke.

And of course the door card...

At 140k keep an eye out for fuel pump and alternator failure.

Drain and fill front and rear diffs and transfer case. Engine oil and filter too while under there.

Transmission gear oil replaced 20k miles ago.
