Not True. Only BMWs with electrically adjustable seats - if you have manually adjustable seats then you don't get this function.

I had a similar one when I was doing some work. Disconnected the battery and on reconnect - nothing. I pulled the Battery sensor cable and that enabled the car to start, reconnected the battery...

Yep, weight sensor. I believe it needs the weight sensor because of the dual stage deployment air bag. It deploys less if there is a lighter person on the seat (i.e. a child in a child seat).
