The car looks weird, but tastes differ.

The owner reports the car drives great, but I'm not very confident...

There's alot of factors not to choose the SMG - it's more complicated electronically and there's alot more complicated to couple to TC. Not to mention - I can imagine how every SMG gearshift will...

Little update - the 4.6 engine will be completely pulled out and the new M62 will take it's place.

I got a new unused M62 block with 92 mm bore and also new S62 crank with rods and 89 mm stroke....

It's not necessary on M62, still it would be nice to use 10W60 unless you're in very very cold climate zone like Alaska. And I'm pretty sure the operation noise will get quiet.

They are all petrol 3.0 trannys, these have GS6-X37 mark and a 4.8 needs a GS6-X53 for the 369 lb fts of torque.

You also have to look for 335xi and 535xi manual trannys, which are also "X53"...

Well, once there's several S62 fitted in to E53 (one of them was 5-speed manual and AWD - unfortunately main shaft bearing was broken after first drive and the car was slaughtered) it's not that big...
