Do I need to disconnect radiator hoses to get my hot side charge pipe installed or are there some tips to squeezing it in there?

Control arm snafu

I made the tragic mistake of removing both upper control arms from the rear of my X5 to get to the spring. I should have researched better. Anyone know a trick to getting the wheel to straighten...

I pulled the spindle off the car and went with heat and a heavy hammer... the whole bushing (sleeve?) came out with the ball joint. *sigh*

The bushing is flush with the surface. It's been taking so long that I actually bought a new alternator so I wouldn't have to do this again for some time.

loosening the power steering pump allowed me to thread the lower bolt but its position blocks me from rotating the alternator enough to get to the top bolt... I would hate to have to pull the pump......

After the hell of replacing the oil seal, I haven't been able to get the bottom bolt on the alternator bracket to align. I've been at this for a few days now. The bolt looks to be hitting too high...
