I think I found the data to settle this for good. Needed to add a quart today. Went to the supplemental service and warranty information book. See pages 6 and 7 -- says clearly 5W-30 (part number 07 51 0 017 866).

I think I settled this for good a long time ago!

Now at 14K and have yet to add another quart.
