Power steering pump was my fix so far.

I'm glad you're getting a new one. I'm curious how your buy back works. Did they simply take it back and compensate you 100%? Any $$ out of your pocket at all? Thanks..

did bmw confirm anywhere that the sound is caused by the steering pump?
I ask because my dealer although saying they are ready to repair the cause of the sound, can't do this as they're not sure what exactly is causing the problem, so at the end of the day I'm still having this problem.

Not really suppose to discuss the terms of the buyback at least when i did mine i was asked to sign a sort of NDA. I can say at least for mine it was extremely fair thought I think each one may be different.

Mine is currently up on the lift getting the necessary fix. Will report back on the parts........I hate see her all exposed like this.....

Power steering oil, reprogramming of the vehicle & recoding

my car failed again today! (the new one will be in at the end of the month) but that sound never did return, i would say they fixed that problem. Anyone else free of the horrible sound??
