Latest guys - there seems to be a problem with the throttle in the steering hydraulic lines. Will post the part numbers when they become available.

Cheers,

Cheers,

Now I wonder if this is related to the power steering pump I am waiting for.

Update: problem solved,,,,

Picked my car up this monring and the noise is 100% gone for now, Pushed it quite a bit in M mode and manual shifting and no sign of the whine sounds whatsoever. Lets hope it stays that way. They replaced the power steering pump which they traced the sound to. The following parts and procedures were done.

32 Steering wheel align 17333 WB4
1 32-41-4-071-181 Power Steering Pump : 324011
2 83-29-0-429-576 Hydraulik L CHF 11 S: 832515
2 07-12-9-952-109 Hose Clamp: 073000
1 32-41-1-712-735 Hose Clamp: 329590
1 82-14-1-467-704 Antifreeze: 832540

12440 Faulty Steering Pump. 17333. Replaced Power Steering Pump. Top Off Fluid and Bleed System as needed.

I'll keep you all posted as the miles build. Good Luck. Fingers crossed.

Thanks for the update. The real question remains if BMW has a new pump or they are just replacing a bad pump with another one that is going to make noise within a few months.

Good question and I did not ask the question but will see if I can find out. Ah I am in quite the good mood though as its like a new car..
