You need a spell check. Just take a little tube of lithium grease and spread it LIGHTLY on the back side of the wheel (where it makes contact with the hub). Be sure to put a little on the hub of the wheel (the round opening that makes contact with the hubcentric on the hub). If you don't over do the grease your pretty calipers will be fine.

I think he was asking how the calipers were painted and what product was used to paint them....

Right, calipers. Got it.
It's most likely easier to remove the calipers, (only a few bolts) and paint them loose. Just don't un-do the brake lines for obvious reasons.

What's up everyone!?!? Sorry for not getting back to you guys...had a long weekend!

I was at my brother-in-law's house smoking some good stuff :D when gave me the idea of painting my calipers red. After finishing our stash I spent the next 3 hours (at 12am on a Friday night) taking off the wheels (which were a B!TCH) and painting each caliper with a brush.

Now...being the fact that I was high as a kite I didn't want to attempt to remove the brake calipers so I painted them while they were still on the rotor. I did tape up the surrounding area and I do believe that I used Duplicolor as the product of choice.

After all was done the calipers are painted and I have to say that it does give the X3 a sportier look. I took it out for a spin and I have to say that I've noticed a lot of folks looking down at my wheels and one person even complimented on how it looked when I stopped at a local mall.

Again the pics are coming! I know :worthless: Please hang with me!!

BigO1120 08-11-2006 10:45 AM

Hey guys!!! So sorry about the delay but my camera broke so I'm waiting for me brother to lend me his so I can take the pics. I'm going to clean my wheels before I take the pics though because I think they'll stand out more.

I regards to doing them on a leased X3...I really don't think they could make a big stink about it. I mean...it makes the X3 look much better.

They're coming guys!!!!!!!!! So Sorry!!!!!!!!!
