If it's truly too ugly, then I guess it would matter. Styling has about the same importance as "fuel economy" or "trunk space" when I choose cars; yes they're important, but they're not the core reason to a vehicle purchase. Although I might bash the new BMW designs, I don't think they're really bad enough to make me say "ok. It's a great car, but it's so ugly I cannot be seen in it". An example of ugly having an impact on a decision would be the Subaru WRX. Not that I would ever buy one anyway.

Like WhiteX5 earlier stated, it's all in the eye of the BEERholder. I myself find the new 3 series models as nicely done, nice beautiful lines. But the Brit on on the video seemingly did not think that it was an eyecatcher. I think he even mentioned that the Chrysler 300C was a better looking car if price was part of the equation. Again that was his opinion , not mine nor yours. It was just an observation I had taken note off.

BTW I would choose a WRX over a PT CRuiser any day of the week.
