I knew I would hear allot when i compared the Acura with the X3. The X3 in my opinion doesn't deliver. The engine is better that's it. I don't mind fewer creature comforts to get the ride, performance and handling but the X3 has neither, just the high price, sorry.
The X5 is expensive but has the creature comforts (if you pay for them) and also delivers the ride and handling you want. Hey BMW doesn't have to be better than the competition with every model. On a positive note I can't wait for my X5 to be delivered, starting to see them on the road and they are beautiful. I was not a big fan of the old model but the new X5 is the perfect combination of looks, handling, hauling capacity and overall performance. No my daughter did not learn to drive a turbo car on my Porsche, she's not quite ready for that. |

The RDX is a turbo-charged 4 cylinder and drives like one - it is peppy with little discernable torque below 4000 rpm ( unlike the X3 here max torque is 2750 rpm.) Fine if you want a sports car. The interior was a bit cramped for my long legs and the dash layout seemed cheap and unattractive, almost to the point of being annoying? The ride was a bit choppy and I could not see myself being at all comfortable in this car for more than 1/2 of an hour, much less a trip to the mountains. The rear cargo are with the seats up is a smallest of all the cars I tested, by far, and not a whole lot better with the rear seats down. So much for storage and passengers. The car comes with no luggage rack options or trailer hitch accessory according to the salesman. Both of which I require. Coupled with the low 6" ground clearence, I quickly realized this is not a vehicle I would want to take skiing. The 2007 X3 is far superior car for my needs - I would have been very unhappy if I had purchased the RDX. Cheers, BB |
