Just Finished Angel Eye Installation

After weeks of being jealous of all of you with angel eyes, and several more weeks telling myself the job was to big for me to do I bought the Chroniun eyes from JLEVI. I will say it wasn't hard, but if wasnt easy either. For anyone thinking about this I will just say take your time. Here are a couple of mishaps I had.

I did not take my bumber cover off. The headlight will come out but you have to have a perfect angle. It probably would have been faster removing the cover.

This may sound funny, but measure your oven. My house is 7 years old, and the oven is not one of the largest out there. The headlights barely fit.

Mounting the rings was the hardest part for me. JLEVI suggested using either double sided tape or glue for this. They stated they usually use the tape, and since I had some 3M double sided tape that is what I went with. It was hard to position the small ring because there was not alot of space to mount it on. I cleared out my lenses, and I think that was the main issue. If I left in the front waffle grids this would not have been an issue.

I took a few pictures, I will add more tonight after work.

As for the pictures it keeps saying my file is too big, what should I do?

Congrats on the install  Welcome to the select few X3'ers w/ Angel Eyes. I only know of four people (including me and you) that have done it.

I did not remove my bumper either. You can remove the four screws on top of the kidney grills to give you more room to angle out the headlights. That is what I did and I had no troubles removing and reinstalling the headlights. Were you able to remove your windshield wiper tank? (this gives you more access to the left headlight) I removed the one bolt holding it on but I still couldn't move it. Felt like there was something else holding it down. :dunno:

I went with silicone II. Doubleside tape just seems too weak for me. I didn't want to take the chance of it falling off and needing to open up the housing a second time to fix it. Plus can't you see the doublesided tape? SiliconeII seem like a cleaner install. I found that removing the chrome rings to glue on the angel eyes is the easiest.

Congratulations! Look forward to the photos!

Does you car have Xenon lights? Does the Angel Eye can be installed on a non-Xenon X3?

Thanks.

Here are the pictures of my 01 X-5 with my new toys. I would once again like to thank the guys at Jlevi for all of their help. I sent them a panic e-mail last night at midnight about my mounting concerns, and within 10 minutes I received the help I needed. My X has the regular halogen headlights.

awesome!

well, my last headlight is baking to be reassembled, and the majority of the video installation guide (yes, we taped each and every step) is filmed. going to work on the harness side of the situation, and install, and then cut and edit the video....

an X5world exclusive -- part of the beginning of X5world 2.0 -- there are a bunch of new features coming in the next few weeks.
