I do like this location, I wonder if a full frame G or a 1911 would fit under the lid comfortably, and with easy enough access. I'd hate to be trying to dive into the foot wells to avoid a spray of bullets, and trying to grab at the center console at the same time.
You may think I am kidding, but considering:
1) Indianapolis, my sweet little city that used to be quiet, has moved from around from 500th in the nation to 18th in gun violence.
2) I work with Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac and a couple other groups, in which I do pre- and post-foreclosure inspections of houses, as well as evictions of the people being foreclosed on, as well as squatters. You would only imagine what I have to put up with on any given day. I have been in neighborhoods where there was an active gang fight, had car windows shot out while I was in the car, walked into active "shooting dens", meth labs, etc. I do carry, and feel safe enough doing so, and safe enough that I could get myself out of harms way, but again, I don't want to be diving for the floor boards, and trying to ham-fistedly be reaching for my G at the same time. I did like the car steering column someone posted. That may be the best way, and is usable in all my vehicles.
And, to avoid any anti-amendment folks out there, keep your thoughts to yourself or share them with someone else. I've been handling firearms for 40 years now, served in our military, am an expert marksman, regular hunter and practice using my weapon on a very regular basis. Not interested in your opinion on the matter, and remember, for EVERYONE, your rights end right where someone else's begin.
Been staring at the steering column holster for the last 10 minutes, it's ingenious, and I can't believe I have never seen that one before...
