crystalworks, you can re-install your MID in the rear as I did. The required power and buss wiring appear there. I don't have navigation or CD changer so I was able to utilise the exisiting framework in the rear left hand side compartment. That way I am able to reset fuel consumption or set timers etc if required. I have had the Eonon unit in for 12 months now.

How does it stand up to winter weather? Just worried the screen might crack or freeze over (like iPhones do when exposed to sub-zero temp)

Well It was 16 degrees in Tahoe the other day and everything appeared to be working fine.

Since it's Android and some weird model tablet funky shit can happen but rebooting usually fixes any problems. For instance the Volume knob stopped working for some reason but I was screwing around with a lot of stuff at the time and may have used up too much internal storage. I've since installed two 64GB SD cards. Reboots are pretty quick. Also some bugs get addressed in firmware ROM updates from Eonon.

I've found it runs smooth except sometimes when I am streaming A2DP bluetooth music from my iPhone. I've since just installed Spotify and Pandora on the Eonon unit itself and everything is bueno.

Thanks! What about OBC functions and controls? Do we lose that or is it all accessible via Torque or some other app? Is a bluetooth OBD port needed our is Is there one built in to access diagnostics?

Can't you just use the XM app? There is an aux in also and plenty of room to hide shit behind the dash.

I am using the cheapest shorty (maybe an inch sticks out when plugged in) OBDII ELM1.5 bluetooth dongle I could find on eBay from China. I think I paid $5-7 for it. I can take a pic or find the link for it if you are interested. I think they are pretty much all the same.

Thanks man for the heads up on the BT/OBD dongle. Just bought one! Yeah, the XM app works around town, but my cell/data coverage (sprint network) blows out here. SLC area is okay.... I gotta drop sprint once and for all. I'm thinking about hoping over to Verizon. I have quite a few areas of no-mans-land out here. Satellite coverage is KING!

I just dropped Boost (Sprint) for metroPCS (TMO) basically have it as my personal phone for tethering at work and for in the car. Pretty good for $30/month.

I keep offline music on Spotify for when coverage is spotty.

Still pretty happy with the unit. Only two quoms so far:

1) Not paring with my Steelmate TPMS-85 bluetooth TPMS system.
2) Reflector 2 does not work for AirPlay mirroring my iPhone. Didn't have any luck with the preloaded AirPin Pro software either.

I was able to root the unit with KingRoot.

Hey We340Z, would you please verify if you can reset anything on the cluster via Torque? Do any changes show up on the cluster such as time/date etc ...?

You cannot.

Are any MID functions are accessible via the Eonon? Can you set date/time? Reset Cons1/2?
