This sounds like a great idea! I had an older Dynavin(wince) in a 2002 E53 and relocated the MID to the glove box.. PITA, but it worked. I have a newer E53 (2005) and it does have the CD Changer but no DSP or NAV. I just looked at the connectors and it appears I have to run the extended cable to the rear. No plug and play.

Wondering if you have any pics of the MID relocation to rear?

The speakers and power are plug and play, no need to run anything to the rear on a no nav, no dsp setup. I did however run a reversing camera video lead forward.
I made a note of the colours of the wires on the original MID plug and the pin numbering, then popped those pins out and insulated them separately and tucked them in under ash-tray. That freed up the plug. I then found the corresponding coloured wires on a connector at the back left, popped those pins out and re-inserted them into the correct pin holes of my recovered plug. I have all original MID functions. With gentle persuasion the MID will clip into the existing rack. I found removing the knob was wise to make sure it didn't foul the enclosure cover.

Hummm..... You got me thinking. I currently have non dsp nav. Would relocating the nav unit to the rear work the same as relocating the mid as you have done? My memory is fuzzy on how the mid non nav functions differently from factory nav.

I can't offer any information regarding your setup, I guess you could do as I did. I checked the wiring to the unit I wanted to relocate to see if it was duplicated in the rear. I presume the navigation unit has additional wiring, but I don't know. Good luck.

The torque app can calculate consumption and could be reset, as well as reading other sensors too but can't reset vehicle's OBC calculations or change other values like time date. It can calculate range the same as the OBC. It can give instantaneous fuel consumption value as well as long term averages etc. If you take the time to input fuel costs it can do the maths on costs per mile.

Yeah, I love Torque... but not being able to actually reset the OBC on the cluster display really drove me nuts (much more than I though) with my Avin Avant 2 setup. So I've been extremely hesitant to do anything like that with my 4.8's setup as of yet. :dunno:

I explored INPA, DIS and SSS (all of which I'm familiar with) and I couldn't find any feature that would manipulate the OBC whatsoever. I wonder if there's really any software out there that can reset the OBC.
