It really won't take up much space in the garage either. I have a wall between the bicycle rack that this can blend right into.

At 200 lbs it should be fun loading this into the back of the X

My Black Friday order arrived today. Looks like I have some work to do. Just waiting on my QuickJack and I should be good to go!

Something critical is missing in your tool set- packs of your favorite cold ones:D. All the best and take it easy.

Still waiting on the QuickJack to arrive. I made the mistake about ordering the BL-7000SLX as a weight only consideration but the BL-7000SLX has a maximum lift point spread of 60" and our X5's are 62.5" center to center jack points. :banghead:

I ordered the BL-7000SLX on Black Friday through Home Depot and realized my blunder last night. I called BendPak this morning and they helped me change the order to the BL-7000EXT and didn't even charge me the difference. An outstanding customer support team over there.

The BL-7000EXT that has a maximum lift point spread at 66" so it will lift 7000 lbs and fit under both my E46 and E53.

I'm off to London and Paris in the morning with the wife to celebrate her birthday, so I hope to have it sitting here when I return next week. Then it will be nuts, bolts and beers!

Bonding compound?

To revive a bit of an old thread, just wanted to ask if anyone had used any bonding compound (such as Loctite 638) when they replaced their swing arm bushings? I just pressed mine out, and there seems to be a good bit of white powdery substance between the exterior of the bushing and the hole in the swing arm. I assume it was either bonding compound or some substance to ease pressing the bushing in at the factory. If you didn't, have your bushings shown any inclination to drift in the arm?

Thanks!

Could it just be aluminum oxide?

I had the same white powder. Never gave it a second thought but I would guess either of the 2 answers could be correct. I pressed mine in without any issues at all.
