I can help timmyc. You need:
  • Avin Avant-4 AVN4416-LHD $339.99
  • PX6 | 4GB RAM | 64GB ROM | 6-core CPU | Android 10 $49.99 (option not necessary but recommended)
  • Quadlock 6M Navigation Extension Cable (SKU: QDBAV6MC) +$59.99
  • IBUS USB adapter (includes paid DSP license) 89.99
Total: $539.96 before any desired additional options

This will get you up and running but you will need to use offline Google Maps for navigation or hot spot your phone and use Waze or equivalent. I bought the iGO GPS Maps MicroSD Card from them and like the interface, it just misses the real time traffic information.

You could also consider the AutoPlay Adapter w/ Support for CarPlay and Android Auto at $99.99 and I also have this and works beautifully with both Android or Apple products and Apple Car Play is wireless (Android still requires a physical cable connection) This would negate the need for the iGo maps option as the system will use the Android or Apple CarPlay maps of your choice.

A few other options would be a back up cam or front and rear DVR recorder. I bought the DUAL DVR Camera System - Records front and back camera at the same time and is ok but the resolution is 720p for the front and 480p in the rear. It gets the job done and I always have dash cam recordings for front and rear but videos are 1 minute clips.

Then decide if you want a TPMS, digital TV or any USB extensions. Remember you only get 3 USB inputs on the system.

My Avin Avant-4 system with my personal options (non factory navigation X5) are:
  • Avin Avant-4 AVN4416-LHD $339.99
  • PX6 | 4GB RAM | 64GB ROM | 6-core CPU | Android 8 $49.99
  • IBUS USB adapter (includes paid DSP license) 89.99
  • iGO North America GPS Maps MicroSD Card $49.99
  • AutoPlay Adapter w/ Support for CarPlay and A-Auto Black adapter (Support wireless CarPlay) +$99.99
  • DUAL DVR Camera System - Records front and back camera at the same time (Model: DDVR-CAM2) $64.99
  • External Microphone for Bluetooth Handsfree Calls / Voice Commands $14.99
  • USB AUX 3RCA $19.99

Total $729.92

Thanks, OB for that reply.

That first set up that you have posted is exactly what I had clicked up for options. I was just unsure about the maps. The NAV is what I am most interested in as I use it daily for work. Sounds like you are telling me to opt for their system? I'm a little slow....

I like having the iGo maps feature so I don't have to connect my phone every time I drive it. You could also download offline Google maps but it expires every month and you have to download them again (just an annoying nuisance). For the $50, I recommend the iGo maps.

I am looking at this unit as well. I have NAV and DSP and the factory unit is now totally dead. Looks like the cost for what I want is close to $500? Does that sound right?

And do you need to use their NAV maps or will the factory NAV work with the unit? I would want to upgrade to the latest maps available.

I got the basic unit with the P6 option. Didn't get the DSP chip option. After listening to this unit without it, I'm happy with it and didn't need the DSP chips. I did drop the $100 for the carplay unit. Wish I hadn't as it takes over the unit and will restart itself even after being shut off. I don't use it. I also got the Igo Nav, but was never able to get it to work. Frankly, in hind sight, I shouldn't have wasted the money as it doesn't have real time traffic like Waze. I hot spot my phone for the unit and use Waze for nav. I also stream music with Pandora using the hot spot from my phone. Strangley enough iHeart Radio app won't work. I also got the IBUS app so I could get info from the OBC. Don't have DSP, so didn't need it for that. Spent about $700. If I hadn't bought the carplay and nav would've been around $550.

It comes with a gps antena, but if you have factory nav you won't need it, just the extension cable.
