I don't have it and I don't feel like I'm missing anything. I wouldn't order it if I had another chance - the trunk isn't so deep that it makes loading or unloading anything for me. Just my $.02

I ordered it on my first X5 (a 2002 model) and might have pulled it out twice in 3.5 years... More of a novelty than anything else, but I'm about 6' tall, too. It might be useful for shorter drivers. I did not get it on my new '05 X5. Just my $0.02.

I agree with Kelly. I had it on my '02 4.4i, and used it very little. I think I used it more in showing it off than I ever used in actual practice!

Because of the design of the rear hatch, ie dropdown, one has to reach in quite a bit to the load area to remove items when the rear door is down.
With the sliding floor, this brings your items into easy reach, a great idea IMHO :) ...and easy on the back!

Perhaps because it is the absolutely most annoying, goofy, irrelevant X5-unrelated avatar on X5World? HAHAHA!!! Thanks - Mike

bump! I'm wondering the same thing.

I have the floor on my car. I do use it quite a bit. Its a cool thing to have.

I found a second-hand one with it and i jumped on it lol.

It does not rattle at all for me and you only loose about 3 cm of space so it works out ok.

The only down side i can see is that it would be hard to get the spare tire out of the boot because you have to hold up the load floor and take the tire out at the same time.

I think it can be removed tho. I have seen a few x5's with out the load floor and you can just see the tire.

hope this helps

Can I remove the load floor and replace with a standard cover?? I would rather have the extra space. Anyone removed theirs??

If you have it do you use it alot, really worth having, worth waiting to find one that has it?

I think it would be good for groceries and other small packages, so one does not have to stretch to pull them out from the tailgate. But would I use it enough to want to wait to find one that has it. I'm concerned that it will rattle over normal driving, is that a concern?

Woud like to hear your opinions, positive or negative.

I have the load floor and find it useful and easy to operate. However, my previous X5 didn't have it and I managed just fine.
I wouldn't let it be a deal breaker if you find an X5 that has everything else you want.
