2GB RAM is bare minimum Mr.R. Let us know how it performs.

The reasons I chose this unit:

1. They layout looks the closest to the OEM MK4 unit. As far as button layout, the font and even the volume knob looks exactly the same.

2. I really like physical buttons, for some reason I tend to use the buttons on the HU more than the steering wheel controls, especially the volume knob.

3. This goes back to the button/layout and the buttons I use the most are the Presets & Volume and since I got used to the OEM MK4, these will feel more natural as it's placed the exactly the same.

4. Again with the buttons, I don't like having a button that I don't use or can't use. MK4 has some and AVANT-3 is the worst offender of them all LOL

My main use for this is to install a backup camera and i-Bus so I can get my AE's running as DRLs finally!

Looks very OEM, but the 2GB RAM is very low leading to sluggish performance. I'd look for a similar unit with 4GB RAM for a great experience.

Here's a similar unit with 4GB RAM.

What are you guys doing with the headunit? Playing games lol?

I have a 1GB 4.4 unit on a 350z and just took it out for the drive and the unit is as responsive as needed.

No games but I would want at least the most power I could get at the time. Your unit is also only a quad core which is a little light to today's standards. I'm not knocking your choice at all, just curious how it performs on Android 8+.

No I get but just from my own personal experience with Android units (I had 3 total now 4 including for my X) top performance specs isn’t my priority. For what I do with them and it’s plenty.

I'm talking about all Chinese android headhunts in general.. unless you don't really care about sound quality and priorotize screen clarity and connectivity.. because Chinese headunits rarely use quality audio drivers..

There's a similar unit with an Octa-Core and 4GB RAM from the same vendor and looks like the price diff is not much. This one would be lightning fast:

Between floor noise, ambient noise, road noise, and after all that, we are talking audio over Bluetooth Protocol, audio quality is something of a small *afterthought* when I factor all that in - for me at least these days.

Headunit serves 3 things - BT audio, BT Phone, and GPS (whether it onboard, audio from waze/gmaps over audio, and or carplay/android auto)

I tend to think that unless one is an audiophile who is extremely discerning and with impeccable tastes, these units meet most people's needs and are very OEM looking. They're so much better in every way than the ancient factory head unit, and at a price tag of <$450. I wouldn't imagine someone installing a $6k high-end audio unit that looks out of place in an $8k vehicle. Just my thoughts.

Not what I meant.. I am not a music lover.. and I keep my speakers stock on all my cars.. luckily my e70 has L7 audio.. which is amazing.. but my wife’s Honda CRV when I got it used came with an Chinese android screen and a back up camera.. it lacked bass.. treble was too high no matter how I set the equalizer.. and I’m a tech head.. so I know how to fiddle with those things.. anyways.. I switched it to a pioneer 7 inch screen .. and kept the stock speakers.. and the sound was night and day .. for Bluetooth talking.. streaming.. and usb.. ..
on the other hand I recently purchased an f-style android 10.25 inch for my e70 ..benefit of the unit I am getting is that it won’t replace the audio in my car.. just screen replacement with android integration which has a separate (central) speaker for navigation.. the just my 0.2 cents..
