No, but there is information on the internet on how to do that.

anyone know what bus the VTG is on? Found various diagrams but none include the VTG?

I checked the resistance at the can lines at the module and it was jumping from 120 -140ohms? Is this a clue to there being a faulty module elsewhere on the same bus ?

I would guess communications would be with/through the DME. Checking resistance isn't going to tell you much unless you are just checking the integrity of the wire by itself.

I found some diagrams online and it looked to be on the same can network as the B75 yaw sensor, air suspension module, and the DDE.

Here's the CANbus wiring for your car...

VTG (module A70006) is at the far right end.

thats great, thank you! mine is a manual so i assume i dont have the Trans module at the start. Am able to communicate with the DDE ok so im going to check the suspension module, and yaw sensor.

Ok so iv been trying to sort this for a while and am no further forward.

I bought this jeep blind for little money. The transfer case motor and resistor had been removed and were completely missing. The only light on the dash is the 4x4 light. ABS etc come on and off as they should, even when the motor and resistor were missing, i only had the 4x4 light on. I found this strange as i expected the trio to be on if the motor was disconnected. I have now replaced the motor and resistor but still cannot talk to the vtg module.

In BMWScanner it shows as 'not found' and DIS OR SSS cannot find it either.

I bought a replacement module, fitted it and still 'not found'

Anyone any ideas? I need to do the calibration badly!

I have power at the module so i can only assume that the CAN is down? Is there any other module that would cause no comms with the VTG module? Is it possible that the VTG has been coded out? or that a pre facelift abs module is fitted?

Help! :)

Wrong Forum!!! This is the BMW X5 forum, not the Jeep forum.

a ‘jeep’ in the UK refers to both the brand ‘Jeep’, and is also a general term for any 4x4 vehicle. Obviously you had trouble negotiating this thread and determining that it was an e53 X5 i am referring to! Appreciate the useless reply though!:stickpoke

Most of the people on this Forum are Not from the UK and would never refer to their X5 as a Jeep.
