Just because you need new pads doesnt neccessarily mean that you need new discs. The dealer just does it so that they can charge either you, or BMW for the extra labor and parts. I've never understood why brake fluid needs to be changed at all, it's a sealed system.... anyways, I just got my first pad change at 75K:thumbup: Discs are good to go, very little wear on them, which is understandable because the discs are much harder than the pads. I bought dustless pads ie Axxis deluxe, for around $120 for front and rear. Had my backyard mechanic put them on, my eibach sport suspension, a new thermostat, complete coolant flush, skid plate remount, and oil change for $300. I supplied all parts. I would find someone that charges by the actual hour to put on your pads, it takes less than an hour to put them in on all 4 sides and replace all sensors.
