Brakes question

At what mileage did you change your brakes?
I'm almost at 53K miles and there seems to be a lot of meat still left on the current pads. I recall changing the pads on my 3er at around 46K miles.

I'm just curious.
Thanks in advance.

I got 48ish out of my front brakes...they were "ok", but I leaned on the Stlr SA, as my 1 yr of Ext Maint. was about to expire, so they R&R'd the fronts. Rears are still fine, as of 52K now.

We have done v. little stop and go, in our mileage, though the mountain descents eat it up some, and probably balance it out.

Great! My brake pads are going at a rate of 30K miles....too much heavy braking in the freeway traffic:rofl:

Same here...I'm only at 22k and there's not much left on mine. Just waiting for my light to come on any day now. I guessed So Cal traffics can be hard on pads :( R8DX5 and MD must live out in the boonies if they can get more than 50k out of the pads

2001 April build with 78,000+ on my OEM pads which are a little over 1/2 worn. 2/3 of my miles are highway and I gear down using engine compression to slow where applicable.

We had to do F&R at 40K. The F were .75 worn and the R were to the metal. As I wanted to get eliminate the dust problem did both and fitted Brembo/Axxis combo.
