Chrome Ring Installation

Is the chrome ring installation around the gauges as easy as it sounds??

I think so. It takes the proper tools, patience, and soft touch, though. If you have any problems with it, just holler!

From folks feedback, people either loved or hated the experience of putting them in- As you've probably seen, it almost always revolves around those clips re-closing as you're working around the instrument panel.
The canned-air is a great suggestion, as well as a cleaning cloth for fingerprints, and anything you can get ahold of that has a slight wedge to it to keep each clip open as you move on to the next one. If you have several such wedges, you might be able to work around it in one shot, as some have done. One of the last posts said it took just 20 mins!

PS- The site you linked to seems to have all the same interior accessories as www.Bimmian.com, even all the same photos. I think some of those same products are offered at better prices at Bimmian, but perhaps I was recalling specials from their site.
Good luck with the rings!

Just did mine on Sunday, it was easy following the directions that I found on this site. After you get the first clip done, easy as pie. Just be patient and it will work out. Looks 100x times better too.

:iagree: It took me 20 minutes. Just wedge the clips as you move around the cluster.

the best way to take out finger prints, especially off of things like lcd is to take tape and tape that part, then take the tape off, it takes off the grease from your finger as well as the finger print

I bought a spare display and even with the clips "open" it will not split. Are there any hidden screws?

Did you turn the X screws on the back of the cluster?
