Hey all, New to the forum but not new to BMW. We have has our X5 for a few years now. I am an avid forum guys on many other auto enthusiast forums. Here are some pics of our X5 that I build for my wife and a few of my guest stars :p:.
Enjoy, let me know what you think. http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k2...DSCN3100-1.jpg http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k2...2/DSCN3128.jpg http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k2...2/DSCN3534.jpg http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k2...2/DSCN3533.jpg |
Nice work e55 BD...are those M6 reps on the X5? I like the 3rd pic..looks mean!
|
They, they are the M6 Time Attack Reps. 20x9 Front with ET 20 and 20x10 Rear with ET 25. Love the aggressive offset. The X5 is one of the best cars I have even driven. We love this car. Im thinking about lowering it about and inch or so and pushing the rear wheels out 7-10mms more.
My wife said something about wanting it matte white with matte black wheels... haha. I think she might be SOL on that. I don't feel like painting or wrapping this thing. haha. |

E55 Bulldog, is that E36 Z3 M-coupe an S52 or S54 engine? If the latter that was one of the fastest/funnest cars BMW produced!

My M-Coupe has and M50 intake mantifold, CF cold air intake, M5 clutch, Stoptech BBK, B&B exhaust, TC Kline coilovers, Ireland Rear bushings, and VOLK TE 37s... it is a very stong car for its weight. Any more power and the rear sub-frame will need to be re enforced just to be safe. |
Yeah, the S54 does call for the valve adjustment with each inspection I... but I work at the dealer so it wouldn't cost me nothing but my own time... and I'm very proficient at that job. (which could be done DIY if you buy some feeler gauges and the magnet tool, along with an assortment of the shims) I haven't seen any long term/high mileage issues with that engine though. Trying to remember, did the S52 use single vanos, or the double vanos of the M52tu?
Sounds like you did all the right stuff to it too, must be a fun ride. I'm just personally a little too tall to get comfortable in the Z3, with the seat all the way down and back I'm still a little crunched. Z4, no problems getting comfortable. |
