My 2006 X5 3.0 is on order....

MSRP $52k
$0 down
36 months, 10k miles per year
$586/month + tax

although it looks like I'm going to end up paying a bit more as I'm totally upsidedown on my trade, and it looks like I'm going to take a beating of around an additional $4k or so.

OK guys get this I went back to dealer today here is the deal they offered me now:

let me know what you all think:

2006 4.4L

Sport Package
Preimum Package
Cold Weather
19" wheels
Navigation
Rear Climate
Preimum Sound
15k miles a year
MSRP $63,880

payment $869.18 w/tax $954.29 monthly

They want first months + bank fee

I am trading in my used 2002 x5 that I owe $19,500 on and they are giving me $16,000 for my trade in how is this deal btw the lease they are working in the trade in difference so he said my lease is really less but I wanted the extra miles + my trade in.

Let me know if this is a good deal or should I shop around for a better trade in?

That seems extremely high imo. They were going for 950 a month when they first came out in 2000. The 4.8is is just over 1000 dollars a month

yeah that is high, I put in 3k of negative equity and still am in the 6's and mine was only like 7k less then yours? and I have more miles.....

Hey Viper,

They are taking you TO THE CLEANERS! I just checked the auction's website for 02 prices. 3.0's are selling for 23k and 4.4's are selling for 24k average. And, that is at auction!!! (this is what the dealer will get when they take your 02 X5 and go try wholesale it).

Go to edmunds.com and price the X5 you want. At the end it will tell you the average people are paying for the SAV (buy and lease).

Here's another good quick tip. Take the price of the car (without taxes), multiply that by 0.4 (to get 40% average X5 lease depriciation), multiply that by 1.07 (to add 7% average finance rate), divide that by 39 (number of months of most X5 leases), add sales tax (times 0.0X, X being the sales tax amount) and that should give you a good ballpark figure of where you should end up.

63,000 X 0.55 =
25,200... X 1.07 =
26,964... / 39 =
691.00 monthly payment plus tax.

So, they are screwing you in two areas: one with the car payment (most likely the interest rate). The other with the trade in (a hefty seven or grand profit).

One disclaimer... the figures above are general for X5's. Other cars depriciate differently. These figures are also based on a good credit score. If you're not at or above 700 FICA, most likely you will not get their best deal.

Hope this helps...:)

the price they gave me is $785 all the other numbers I added were my taxes and my used car.. How is a $785 lease sound?

Break out the numbers to find out what kind of deal you are getting.

We need to know:

MSRP
Capital Cost (sale price of the car)
Residual
# months
Money factor (multiply by 2400 to get the interest rate)
Drive off amount
Negative equity in the trade is $3,000--all that does, essentially, is bring the Cap cost up by that amount.

All i got was a wierd bracket from them no other break downs:

TAX 8.625
36 months
miles: 15k
$63,495
then $63,880

DOWN: 0

rate: 0.00100

residual 57%

Residual Value $36,192.15

$33800 / $869.18

Payment w/tax $954.29

A G note for lease...that is a bit rich for my taste...what is the current payment on the 02 and what is wrong with it?
