I was at the dealer today and there is no market support for the X5 or special lease programs really, when I bought mine back in july 2005 it was the best money factor ever

lease payment-680.00
money down-1000.00 (total drive off)
milage per year-15k plus 2k total 18k
term-39mos
msrp-55,800 or something near that

reason I use this to compare is because Chuck and I are getting a boat so before the RR (april purchase) we looked at the X5 lease then and 3 weeks ago for a 4.4i and the least payment was in the 800's with substantial money down (3500 or 4500 etc) so we gave up, it also doesn't help that the FEDs keep raising the rates which effects leases, my opinion? lease ASAP because its well known that the rates are on the rise

I say check a couple of different options before you make your decision. Personally, I've always been told never to put any money down because you will never see it again and you may want to consider an upfront lease (you basically write a check for the full term upfront), those end up being a little cheaper.

Great Deal! "blondboinsd"
Viper... I'm set to turn in my 3.0 this thurs. swapping for:
2006 BMW 4.4
no money down
$785.00 per month
Sales person(worked with him on last 3 bimmers)
asked for just bank fee and 1st month on delivery.
mileage per:10k
Premuim..
Cold..
Sport...
Rear climate... packages
19" inch Rims with Nav
msrp 63,300

I don't plan on keeping it..Just a 3 year "Loaner" till the X7 comes through.

Forecast your "needs & wants" during the next few years.
"blonds" correct there not offering any new incentives on the X5, and with the rumors swirling on the (NEW X5 or 7) either late 2007 or 2008, things will get interesting..

Ask yourself:

How many miles and more miles do i want to put in my current vehicle?
Do i want to buy now? or do i want wait another year or year in a half for the new design models?
If ya wait for the new models don't expect any discounts-or good deals for the 1st 6months or so anyways.

those were some of the things I considered.

WOW! I guess I did pretty well then... My lease payment is $550 X month ($583 w/ tax). I didn't give one penny down ($500 refundable sec deposit). Term is 39 months. I got an '04 3.0 Calahari Beige X5 with Premium and Rear Climate? (not sure that's what it's called) packages.

Here's a tip. Don't appear desperate. Always tell the dealer you have an alternative. Find another comparable SUV and every time the dealer says he/she can't do better, tell them that you're going to go get the other truck. I used the Touareg V8. My argument was that I would get a V8 as opposed to the X5's V6 for the same price. BE NICE THOUGH! And, of course, be prepared to walk away...

Good luck!

Jose

That is a great deal with all those options... I got small problem because im trading in a car with 20,000 owed and they want to give me $15,500 for it so he is not really going down on msrp any suggestions?

I dont want to sell on my own because of the headache is doing it just want it as easy as possible..

You are getting an amazing deal would it be possible to get your dealer to offer me that? maybe you can give me his number so I can use that quote in my stealership and get a good deal too?

Hey Viper,

What city are you in? If you are in the U.S. and have a CarMax near-by, take your trade-in over there and see how much they give you vs. what the dealer has offered you. CarMax buys cars even if you don't buy a car from them. Sometimes they offer you better money than the dealer as a trade in.

Good luck!
