it took me 1 hour (with many pauses to swap gloves to take pics) on the removal of all the parts to get to the swivel bearing to press it out. I would guess if you didn't need to read instructions and could move rather quickly and unburdened (just like a technician does), then you could have all the parts off in about 45-50 mins. the new shaft comes complete and ready to install. you don't need to mess with greasing it up. the boots are sealed and ready to go.. just install. so i can see the job taking 2 hours or less very easily.
also looks like they took some shortcuts like only removing the control arms from the chassis, leaving everything on the swivel bearing side connected... i guess having that special bmw tool has a lot of advantages... i don't think hammering the swivel bearing onto the stub axle would be very easy with the control arms still attached, but with that special tool, it wouldn't matter as it was pulling the stub axle into the swivel bearing...
