here's a wake up call for you.. don't buy a BMW for straight line speed.. the turns are where it's at..

btw.. your intercooler... if you size it correctly, you should have negligible psi lost but obviously you didn't know that. If you are look a 1/4 bar lost in boost, you got it ALL WRONG. And if you were a REAL drag racer, you would know that you don't need to look no further than Spearco for any custom intercooler and end tanks.. but of course, what do I know.. I don't do drag racing anymore after hitting 10s in a rice rocket..

btw.. WTF is deep gears?? :confused:

There's only one company that makes an intercooler for an X5...and they only make one model...so you get what you get...and that is a 1.5 pound boost drop. The only physical place to put one is in front of the lower half of the existing radiator, and that space has fixed dimensions...so you get what you get. Again, you are thinking like a Mustang guy...they have plenty of choices.

"Deep gears" is a term used by racing professionals to express gear ratios that are larger that stock; therefore a 4.10 gear ratio is "deeper" than a 3.91 gear ratio (I quized the 11 YO neighbor kid and he seemed to know what it wa). :rtfm:

Wait, I missed something, since when is a BMW....ANY BMW...meant for pimping and styling and not speed and the "ultimate driving experience?" Hell I'm trying to do just what Warbucks is doing with some pimping involved as well...granted I'm still in college and don't have that kind of money....and I only have a 4.4 to work off of but still...I'm getting there ;) If you want to turn the X5 into a modding car, More power to ya!

Warbucks just out of curiosity...if you're looking for raw power why didn't you go for a displacement upgrade from Hamann or Hartge rather than a SC?

to post some thoughts.
First of all I REALLY do not understand why some people and in this case Sanguru are so provocative and may I say a bit insulting.
If you feel that your E60 M5 is an absolute rocket it is fine with me and I believe it is fine with everyone , but dont you think that EVERY person is entitled to feel the same about their car ( right or wrong ) and to try to mod it to go faster even if the primary reason for owning an X5 4.6is is not the dragstrip ???
You are dead wrong to believe that g-power does not make headers for the 4.6is. It does and I know it because my g-power 4.6is supercharged stage II
car has these headers with their complete free flow exhaust system.
I also do not understand why polishing cars and adding new rims or dvd systems is so much important and modding for going faster is not.
Anyway everyone is entitled to an opinion but I would like to mention that one person's freedom stops where the other person's freedom begins.

P.S. The Active Autowerke E60 M5 with software,exhaust,intake mods and nitrous pumping more than 600 hp was able to bring home a very respectable 11.1 secs. Your 10 secs are way too optimistic if you consider that heavily moded cars like Evoms 800 hp 996 biturbo can do at best a 9.4 secs and my Gemballa Gt-r 750 R (996 gt2 moded) with 850 hp running only with 100 Octane fuel ( 15 cars ever made worldwide ) can do 9.2 ( not by me ).

No drag slip yet... costs a fortune here to do it. Will ante-up once all the mods are in place.

It should cost no more than $20 for a timed run at your local track.

Yeah... you are right, is should cost $20, but it doesn't...its $85... and its only open Wednesday nights...so after getting home from work and get to the track... I barely get a run in before it closes. Its a poor investment at best.

lol at poor investment.. how about this for a good investment, I bet you that you can't even hit 12's in your current setup.. We'll even start a pot here.. make sure you post videos and timeslips. Until that, all your posts are about as useless as your POS intercooler... btw.. you can still size the intercooler for height and depth.. there is a tradeoff in size vs boost lost but anyways you're so FOS that there is no point in telling you anything.
