Has this been addressed by the dealer at all? I did not see any service
done in your post. Just wondering if have a true engine problem?

Not addressed by a dealer. And i am worried that it is a true engine issue.

Did you try changing the other sensor?

KUCAK 12-14-2006 12:01 PM

I didnt try to change the other. I would hate to spend another $125.00 for no reason. I may try to move the new sensor to the other side. just switch them up. Is that smart at all?

You could switch them. Good for trouble shooting. If the problem follows to the other side (bank one) you'll have your answer.

If you still have the old sensor you may want to put it back in the original side and put the new sensor in the other side (bank one). That way you'll only need to change them once if that's the problem.

Any updates on if switching the side worked? I'm having the identical problem.

I hate to revive such an old thread but I guess it's better than creating a new one! I've just run across this same problem. I replaced both sensors for good measure since they were never replaced and for a little while all was fine. Then one day, on startup, it threw the above mentioned code. I reset it and it stays off for the duration of the drive, but as soon as I restart the truck the code reappears.

Anyone have any luck diagnosing this? TIA!

Exactly the same problem recently. I changed the 2 sensors as a preventative maintenance. The intake one failed immediately, throwing the code and causing some issues while starting the engine. Replaced by the old one and all went well. The exhaust one failed about 3 weeks later, once again I put the old one...
My fault, I ordered some aftermarket ones (Ekon brand) instead of the OEM...
