Cold cracked my wood trim...... Pics added
2 Attachment(s)
It was about 5-10 degrees here yesterday and when I got into my X5 the wood trim over the radio had a huge crack in it. I think it was from the heat blasting on the cold piece. Anyways it sucks so be careful- I'm aiming those vents in the center upwards from now on.
1st pic is the trim over the radio 2nd pic is similar cracks on the door piece, which were already there when I bought it |
Thanks a lot mate! very useful for me!

do you have a picture of the crack? is it really noticable?
|
it looks like someone drew on the piece with a thin pen, its only noticeable when it shines because the crack breaks it up... i'll take some pics
|
this is why i moved away from the cold..

Heat fluctuation cracked it? Seems odd. It was 11 here the other day and I took the X out full blast with the heat, no wood trim issues. I wouldn't think the heat from the heater vents could get hot enough fast enough to cause temperature change in the wood as much as to crack it.....interesting though.
