Let's see you have an O5 X5 correct? No full maintaince factory warranty across the pond for that year vehicle?

I got 28K on the front and the rears are close.

Car is booked in on Wednesday. Whilst I'm there, I'll get a quote for the new X5 - just spent 20 mintes on the BMW website - the options look great - head up display, rear DVD system, active seats . . . . I kind of like it.

My "check brake" warning came on this afternoon! I have ~38k on mine. I guess I will take it in in a few days, when I have a little time.

Mine went at 22k, the car was driven in DC and the previous owner was clearly a hard driver - with my driving they will last much longer. I really think it is all about the area you drive in.

My brake pads has usually lasted well over 60k and my X has now over 38k in ODO. I have quite relaxed driving style, I let the car roll to intersections and if I see a traffic jam on highway I just take the foot off the gas and let it roll, I'm just lazy and don't want to brake and accelerate all the time, I like to drive smoothly which also saves the brakes. But the X5 is heavy so let's see how long the breaks last, so far doing good.

I got the check brake linings warning during my 2pm Dunkin Donuts run. 30,430 miles. I'm very surprised I lasted this long. Can't get an appt until next week, am I cool to drive. No road trips, just local stuff?

You should be fine but limit your trips. That's what i did.

I'm only 14 miles each way to work and just local around town stuff this weekend. My SA said they're all booked up next week but if I call him Monday morning he'll squeeze me in somewhere. They're good to me.
