thanx 03,
but my car is in shop alrdy. for change of alternator and battery. cost me $580. lalalala i got fuked up again alalala |
Man, battery problems seem to be a re-occuring thread. This is not an item you wait for it to die. If you get freezing temps in winter, buy a new one every 4 yrs. If you don't experience freezing temps, buy a new one every 5 years. (I buy mine anytime after 4 yrs) And get a 5yr guarantee battery, not some cheap bargain. If you don't DIY, then use the opportunity to have them check the charging system (it's usually free). Preventative maintenance! This way things get done when you have time for it, not when you HAVE to make time for it. Let me say it again, the X5 is an electrical hog. We all have gotten used to earlier cars when electrical demands were not so great and you could play the radio for hours while washing/waxing the car or at the beach. NOT with this vehicle. I always make sure everything is turned off before turning off the ignition, everytime. I treat my X5 like an airplane, where there are checklists of what to do for takeoff, landing, & shutdown. A few extra seconds can really save you some big headaches.
